"I expected that the competition would be between the first four biathletes. Of course, I was a little surprised at Tchoudov's three missed targets in the first shooting round. I thought that he would not be in contention for a medal. But, at the finish line I was pleasantly surprised when Maxim overtook Andrei Makoveev. For me this race was more of a tactical battle."

The Winner Vita Semerenko (Ukraine):
-The competition was a success for me . I set a goal to finish the World Championship like this. I had to keep after Olga Zaitseva whole time. I was worried during the last shooting round. But in the end I made one less mistake and tried to keep that advantage until the finish. I thank Olya for the great competition.
