Comments from Russian Juniors- 20 September 2012
The biathletes of the Russian team, who were victorious in the Mixed Juniors Relay at the Summer Biathlon World Championships commented on their experience in the race:
Olga Podchufarova:
“This track is a little different than the one we usually train on in the summer. We were unaccustomed to competing on a tracking with so many hills. In all it turned out well. Of course during my turn I wanted to make build up a big lead, but it did not work out that way, because I did not do well during the shooting from the standing position. But in the end it was all fine.
This year for me is another as a Junior, so I need to think first and foremost about my Juniors races. It would not be a bad idea to have a good showing in this races, in order to build up a foundation for next season. This year I need to put an emphasis on my Juniors races as a small stepping stone to the future.”

Anton Babikov:
“Everything was good. I always trained on this track, but this year I only did two of my training sessions. In Ufa the track is difficult for those unaccustomed to it- in the summer we trained at a different track. Roller-skiing was tough, maybe we are still not acclimated. I hope that going forward that it will be a bit easier. The most important thing today was to be patient and to shoot well. We overcame this and we were able to get our result.”

Olga Kalina:
The roller-skiing was tough, that was where we kept our patience, that is where we won. We were patient and we tried hard. The shooting of course screwed us up, but we will hope that going forward, we will do better.”

Aleksey Kornev:
"Even with the small problem with shooting we managed well in this race. We were very lucky today with the weather. We got a good result- we won!”
